Challenge 73 OSAAT Job/school related

For anyone who did not see my earlier post I am now on the One stitch at a time design team and here is the project I have made for challenge 73 which is school/job related. To take part in the challenge head over to the challenge blog Here

I have made a triangular card which are also known as Teepee cards. all you need is 3 pieces of 6 x 6 card and some backing papers to decorate . Just score each one diagonally once and take one of the pieces of card and overlap with another, lining up the edge of one with the crease in the other. Then decorate. This card can be folded flat for posting and will fit in an A5 envelope. I've used a velcro dot to keep it in shape but you could also use ribbon.

The digi image I have used is by Hope Jacares and is called Teachers Rules which I have coloured in with Copics. I have matted the image on to a scalloped green circle and added a silver peel off in each scallop. The backing papers are from a 6 x 6 Honey and hugs paper pad and the 3 green circles in each corner are called card candy and are available from Craftwork cards.

I am entering this card into the following challenges
Daisy Doodles Anything goes including a digi
Happileigh scrappin Shaped cards and special folds

A Kenny K image card

I completed Kenny K's wonderful blog hop the other day and needed to make a card to enter their challenge and this is what I have come up with.

I started with the sketch from this weeks Passion for Promakers challenge.

The image is a digi from Kenny K which I have coloured in with Promarkers, I used Denim Blue, Tea Green, Ice Grey 2, Ice grey 3 and Ivory.

I got the musical digi backing paper for free online somewhere, sorry I can't remember where from at the moment. I have used a Crafts Too music embossing folder to emboss blue card and then mounted this onto silver mirri and used my nesties to cut out the circle musical paper which I backed onto a blue scalloped circle cut with my nesties.

I added the silver ribbon which I have had in my stash for some time and the blue dots with silver shiny dots on in the right hand corner are called Card Candy and are available from Craftwork Cards.

I am entering this card into the following challenges

My entry for Karens Doodles DT call

I heard that Karens Doodles challenge blog were looking for design team members and as I absolutely adore Karens Doodles images, I thought I would give it a try, I would be extremely honoured if I were chosen as one of the new Design Team.

Anyway you have to make a card specifically for the DT call, so I am not entering this card into any challenges. It does not really show it in the photo but the second and third pictures are above the ground and are pulled out from the main card. For anybody who has not seen this type of card before they are called telescope cards. The card has a hand made stand affixed to the back so the card can be displayed upright with all sections pulled out.

I have used three of Karen's wonderful fishing themed images, the one on the main card is called Fisher dad, the second image is called Big Catch and the third image is called Who Caught Who, all three are available Here

So as mentioned before, I started off by making the basic telescope card. To decorate it I printed off 2 backing papers from a Nitwits Digi download and cut to size to fit the 3 different sections. I coloured all three images with Copics and edged the images with silver peel offs then matted onto turquoise paper before sticking to the backing papers.

The little round turquoise and silver circles are called card candy and are available from Craftwork Cards. I have added three silver fish charms dangling on fireline from the 3 turquoise circles at the bottom of the main image and one to the top right hand corner of the main image, and another on the top right hand side of the third image. I added Glossy Accents to the fish on all three images so they look wet.

I am not sure whether I have a chance as there has already been some fantastic entries for this DT call but I will keep my fingers and toes crossed that a bit of luck might come my way, its just a case of waiting to hear now.

Card for Natasha with matching gift box

Another card with matching gift box from me today. I was asked by my daughter Hayley to make a card and box like the ones I did for my other daughter Freya's birthday for Natasha, one of her at work and this is what I came up with.

Natasha will be 21 and loves black, white and pink so I just had to use these colours.

I started with a basic easel card base and using designer backing papers out of my craft stash decided on the layout. I used pink paper to mat and layer. The image is from Lili of the valley.

I have used a Marianne Design die Doily Circle LR0168 to cut and emboss the circle on the left hand side, my circle and scalloped circle nestie dies for the 21st sentiment on the right hand side which also is a stamp from Lili of the valley, black and white plaid ribbon for the bow on the base and pink roses around the image and 1 rose on top of the bow. The leaves have been cut using a Leone M punch. I have also added 2 charms, a handbag and a shoe, on a chain and fixed to the front of the card.

The box measures 15 x 15 and has exactly the same layout as the card but where the image is on the card I have added Hayleys message to Natasha, the box does have a frilly border which I made using a Martha Stewart Deco flowers punch around the page punch.

I am entering this project onto the following challenges

Happy Ruby Anniversary Malcolm and Denise

I have been working on a special project this week, a card and matching gift box to celebrate our friends Malcolm and Denises ruby wedding anniversary which is today, 40 years of marriage is a real achievement in this day and age isn't it. Happy anniversary Denise and Malcolm and congratulations!

So here it is, I made a basic easel card to begin with. On the upright panel I have used red card, and 2 digi papers from a Nitwits Collection called so berry and I have matted and layered these onto red card.

The image is a Lili of the Valley stamp which is one of my favourites and I have coloured it in with Promarkers. I have added a die cut flourish to the right hand side and red ribbon with white dots along the centre and made a matching bow, adding a red rose on the top, I have also added a LOVE silver charm using chain underneath. There are 3 red pearls in the top left hand corner and the bottom right hand corner and then added roses with Pinflair.

On the base panel I have used matching digi papers and used a Martha Stewart heart punch on a piece of red card. The sentiment stamp is from Lili of the valley which I matted and layered onto a circle and scalloped circle nestie die cuts. I have added our message in a heart shaped die cut layered on a scalloped heart die cut on the back of the card.

I have made the box to match, it measures 15cm square, again using red card and the 2 digi papers from the same Nitwit Collection. On the top layer I have used a Martha Stewart punch around the page punch called Deco flowers which gives it the pretty edging. I added a printed message in red on the top of the box and cut with the large heart and scalloped heart nestie and added a red rose flower to the top of the heart.

I wanted to do something special for them so I hope they are going to like it.

I am entering this card/box into the following challenges

Birthday card for Richard

Here is a card I made for my sisters partner Richard whose birthday was on Saturday 2nd July. He used to be in the RAF and is also a commercial pilot.

I started with making a twisted easel card. The paper is from a digi download from Pink Petticoat called stripes. The pearlescent green paper is from The Papermill shop. The image is from a decoupage sheet but I can't remember where I bought it from.

I have added green with gold circles on top card candy from Craftwork cards in three of the corners.

The greeting is a Lili of the valley sentiment stamp which I inked up with olive versachalk and then cut out using my circle nestie and layered onto a scalloped circle using a scalloped circle nestie. I also added 2 triangles of stripey paper and 2 triangle of the pearlescent green paper on the base of the card.

I have photographed the card laying flat to go in the envelope and how it stands up.
